Description
TSL 418 Up&Down Grip Snowshoes – Small Frame, Orange
The TSL 418 Up&Down Grip snowshoes are designed for stability, comfort, and traction on snowy terrain. Lightweight yet durable, they are perfect for recreational winter hiking and exploring snowy trails. Their ergonomic design ensures a secure fit, while the Up&Down Grip system provides excellent control on both ascents and descents.
Before Putting on Your Snowshoes
Each snowshoe is designed specifically for the left or right foot. Ensure the correct snowshoe is on the correct foot by checking the pictogram on the frame.
Adjustment
Proper adjustment is crucial for safety and performance:
-
Your foot should be securely positioned at the front and back of the binding to maximize stability.
-
Straps or buckles (depending on the model) should be tightened as much as possible.
Choosing Snowshoes by Weight
Select snowshoes according to the combined weight of the user and their backpack to stay afloat on snow.
-
15–50 kg: Children’s model
-
40–80 kg: Small to medium frame
-
60–120 kg: Large frame
Climbing Aid for Steep Slopes
Snowshoes with a removable heel lift (climbing bar) make uphill walking easier and more comfortable by reducing strain on your calves.
Using Poles for Stability
We recommend using a pair of poles for extra stability, especially on slopes, descents, or in deep powder. Choose wide baskets to prevent the poles from sinking into the snow.
Clothing Recommendations
Avoid over-layering — snowshoeing generates heat quickly. Follow the 3-layer system for optimal comfort:
-
Layer 1: Technical base layer to wick moisture and keep skin dry.
-
Layer 2: Insulating layer (fleece or sweater) to retain warmth while transferring moisture.
-
Layer 3: Outer shell for protection against wind, rain, and snow. Ensure all layers are breathable to prevent moisture buildup.
Footwear
Wear high-cut, warm, waterproof, and breathable hiking boots with good traction for snow-free or icy sections.
Safety
For off-piste snowshoeing, carry a map, compass or GPS, and avalanche safety equipment (beacon, shovel, probe). Always review basic safety procedures before heading out.
Repairability and After-Sales Service
TSL snowshoes are designed for repair. Spare parts (crampons, buckles, etc.) are available at Decathlon stores. Snowshoes can also be inspected by store specialists if needed.
Warranty
This product comes with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. Defective products covered under warranty will be replaced free of charge. The warranty excludes normal wear and tear or damage caused by improper use.
